Mohammad Hemati, born 1979 in Iran, lives in Tehran. He has worked as a translator of German literature since 2008. His translation of Joseph Roth’s “Radetzkymarsch” into Persian was awarded the Abolhasan Najafi Prize in 2018, and his translation of Eugen Ruge’s “In Zeiten des abnehmenden Lichts” was nominated as one of the 5 best translations for the Iranian Book of the Year Awards 2020. He has been writing poetry since 2003, and in 2019 his first book of poetry “The Cradle” was published in bilingual edition (Farsi and Greek) by Skarifima Publishing House in Greece. Mohammad Hemati is co-founder of the international projects “Abolish Borders With Words” and “35hours”.
