Lian, Yang

Yang Lian, born in China in 1955, lives in London and Berlin. He has published 15 volumes of poetry, two volumes of prose and numerous essays, most recently “A Tower Built Downwards” (Bloodaxe 2023). His works has been translated into more than 30 languages. The most recent German translation was “Erkundung des Bösen” (PalmArtPress 2023). Yang Lian has received many awards, most recently the English PEN Award (2023) and the inaugural Sarah Maguire Prize for Poetry in Translation (2021).
