Steinunn Sigurdardóttir, born in Reykjavik, studied psychology and philosophy in Dublin. She worked as a radio and television journalist and published several volumes of poetry, short stories, a children’s book and twelve novels, which have been translated into numerous languages. She received the Icelandic Literature Prize in 1995 for “Herzort” and “Der Zeitdieb” was made into a film in France in 1998. Her most recent book is “Nachtdämmern” (Dörlemann 2022). Steinunn Sigurdardóttir lives in Reykjavik and Senlis, France.
