Hu, Tung-Hui

Tung-Hui Hu, born 1978 in California, is a poet and a media scholar. Hu is the author of three books of poetry, most recently “Greenhouses, Lighthouses” (Copper Canyon Press, 2013). A 2022-23 Rome Prize Fellow in Literature at the American Academy in Rome, he has also held literary fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts (USA), MacDowell, and Yaddo. Hu was formerly a network engineer and has written two scholarly books, on the lost histories of digital technologies (A Prehistory of the Cloud, 2015), and on the art of exhaustion (Digital Lethargy, 2022). He teaches poetry in the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan, where he is an associate professor of English Language.
